Obama Needs Callers for PA: Your Chance to Help!

Hello, fellow Obama supporters:

I got a call yesterday afternoon, and an e-mail follow-up, from Alexandria Rosetti, the Obama national campaign field organizer I worked with while serving as a precinct captain here in Dallas.

Sure, we caught up -- but, mostly, we talked about her need for support in the field in Scranton, where she's working now. Alexandria reports that Scranton, Hillary's birthplace, is tough sledding for the Obama team, and asked for any help we can provide by way of phone calls.

Here's her message to anybody willing to pick up the phone:

Thanks for helping me. My areas in particular could use a lot of help, so I appreciate your time.

All you have to do is go to pateams.barackobama.com and sign up. I'll provide you with a PA address that you can use in order to register:

You'll be directed to a "Tasks" page where you'll be able to make phone calls to democratic voters in Pennsylvania. You'll see the person's name, address and phone number on the screen and there's also a script that tells you what to say. You'll also be able to enter the data from your conversations directly into the site.

She asks that volunteers for this effort devote an hour a day to this effort, but they're obviously willing to take any help they can get. They're also really grateful in advance for anything you can do to help! The purpose of the calls?

The goal of this program is to identify Barack supporters and those that are still undecided and to recruit Barack volunteer that will also use this website.

When you speak to interested volunteers e-mail me their contact info, and I'll follow up with them.

Most of the numbers you'll dial in the beginning will probably be disconnected/wrong so we need to flush these numbers out of our database. Cleaning the system now will allow us to have a higher voter contact rate as we get closer to election day. I know this may sound like a lot of calls, but you can go through them pretty quickly. Even if you only have an hour or so, every call is important.
